Attendance
On-Site Attendance Policy (Starting in September)
High School* students are required to be on-site for twenty-five (25) hours a week. Middle School students are required to be on-site for thirty (30) hours a week. The learning lab is opened from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. If we have enough interest for night school, we will have the learning lab opened later in the evening.
Students who do not meet the full-time attendance requirement of twenty-five hours in a given week will be placed on attendance probation for the next week. Failure to meet the requirement two weeks in a row during the course of a term may result in the student being withdrawn.
Off-Site Attendance Policy (Available Later this Year)
We are currently working with the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools to add an at home option. We project that this will be available in October of this year. Below is the attendance policy that will be in place for off-site students.
High School students are required to log twenty-five (25) hours of attendance during the week. Middle School students are required to log thirty (30) hours of attendance during the week. Our attendance week runs from Monday-Sunday. Arizona State law requires the student's parent/guardian must record the attendance. The learning management system will require attendance to be logged daily by the parent/guardian.
The following activities can count toward a student's attendance requirement:
- Working in the learning management system (on-line curriculum)
- Reading course materials/books off-line
- Doing research using the Internet other resources connected to the course off-line
Students who do not meet the full-time attendance requirement of twenty-five hours in a given week will be placed on attendance probation for the next week. Failure to meet the requirement two weeks in a row during the course of a term may result in the student being withdrawn.
*High school students attend as a program of Tempe Accelerated High School.
