Myron Hammond • school leader
Myron Hammond, holds a bachelor’s degree in biology education from Brigham Young University and he graduated with distinction with a master's degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University. Hammond received the Innovation in Education award from Senator Slade Gorton of Washington State for his work in developing a program that combined a vocational business class with a traditional biology class using laptops.
Before becoming principal at Tempe Accelerated High School and Montezuma Middle School, Hammond served as the assistant principal/curriculum coach. Hammond taught science at Apache Trial High School, another Leona Group school, and later served as the assistant principal for Apache Trail prior to his arrival at Tempe Accelerated .
Before moving to Arizona, Hammond taught biology and business for a traditional high school in the state of Washington. Hammond moved to Arizona in 2000 and worked as a computer consultant and trainer before returning to education in 2001 when he joined the Leona Group.
